Oh Baby - Week 10

Well - I finally made it. This has been one HECK of a struggle waiting to get to the Dr. but today we finally made it and THERE IS A BABY IN THERE! Holy smokes this has been a roller coaster! I have been convinced for the last two weeks that our baby stopped developing BUT we saw him today and his little heartbeat too! It has been especially tough because ALL my symptoms just disappeared one day. It was so strange and so scary and now, luckily it was all unfounded.

This week baby is the size of a prune.

Total Weight Gain:
Maybe a pound or two. Not much. Yay!

Maternity clothes:
Just the normal clothes, and they're fitting about the same.

Stretch Marks:
Nope.

Best moments:
Our first Dr. appointment and seeing baby J for the first time!! Got our first snapshot too!

Movement:
Not yet, just waiting for the moment! He didn't move for the ultrasound so he must get laziness from me :)

Food Cravings:
Nada!

Food Aversions:
Nil.

What I miss:
sleeping through the night.

Nausea/Vomiting:
Nope, gone. yay!

Symptoms:
Back pain sometimes....from sitting too much

Labor signs:
Of course not yet.

Gender:
Only 10 weeks until we find out!

Belly Button:
Innie!

Wedding Rings:
On!

Sleep:
I can't sleep...ever. Ugh.

Wisdom:
Find a doctor you love, I love mine and she made waiting SO worth it!!!

Sunshines and Creeps

So this is going to be a tough one to write. Those of you who know me, know that I am not a morning person. I was thinking of getting up early this morning to go to the gym, however, I decided not to be crazy and slept a little longer then got up to pack.

I was pretty proud of myself. I was ready, pretty much packed for our weekend trip, and ironed Ross's pants and got Sophie's bed in the dryer.

Now I did this all and wasn't going to be late for work, this doesn't ever happen.

So time to put the dogs in their kennels and go, right? Wrong. Cooper decided to play a game with me called "chase cooper around the car for five minutes while you get increasingly angry and eventually totally lose your temper" So after chasing Cooper around the car for five minutes I finally got him to follow me back inside (their kennels are in our garage) where I trapped him in the corner and I put on his pinch collar and leash. I literally drug him to the kennel and he was whimpering because it was starting to hurt his neck, which I immediately felt bad about so of course I eased up. That was a mistake, because then he started wrestling me to get out of his kennel. SERIOUSLY wrestling, he then pulled out his dirty dog moves and was headbutting me right in the belly, all 90 lbs of him!

Meanwhile Sophie is shaking, and panting and crying in her kennel because she thinks something is wrong, which it was but nothing she could do about it.

So now here I sit. My back aching because of my wrestling match, me thinking every little twinge in my belly is something wrong because of getting head butted by my evil dog and feeling really bad for being so mean to a dog that I love so much. Ugh. What a morning.

So CREEP to that.

Sunshine to Friday, I really needed that today.

Sunshine to going to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family this weekend. We are also celebrating the completion of the "deer skinning building" at the farm and are hoping to christen it with a fresh deer as well.

Sunshine to getting the dogs out for some exercise this weekend. It will do us all a lot of good.

Sunshine to hitting up the Pride of Dakota showcase on our way to the farm! I can't wait. It is one of my most favorite shopping events all year!! (Creep to no free wine sampling for me this year)

Sunshine to getting to see my precious niece Sophie this weekend. She is so much fun and I can't wait to play with her.

Sunshine to some nice weather that's coming our way. It's definitely feeling like winter around here!

Sunshine to making lefsa with the in-laws last night. They generously sent some with us for our family, I hope it makes it all the way there and doesn't all end up in my belly!

Sunshine to water aerobics. It sure is fun and feels so good to get in the pool every week! I will miss it tomorrow!

Oh Baby - Week 25

Total Weight Gain: I give up. Who knows. I don't. and I don't want to. Ignorance can really be bliss.

Maternity clothes:
I have a ton. I have vowed to stop buying them.

Stretch Marks:
No.

Best moments:
Ross feeling baby for the first time. Hopefully it starts hitting home for us both soon that we'll be bringing home a son.

Also, bringing Sophie dog home. I miss her when she goes of vacation. However, she is prepping me for baby J by waking me up at 3 to go outside. I assume to go to the bathroom, it is too dark to know what the heck she's up to!

Movement:
Getting a little stronger and more frequent. But sometimes I'll go a couple days without feeling him.

Food Cravings:
Not much of anything.

Food Aversions:
None.

What I miss:
Sleep. I wake up and my body just hurts down to the bones.

Nausea/Vomiting:
Not often, mostly when I brush my teeth or am really really hungry.

Symptoms:
Lack of sleep, body aches. This week I developed extreme dry skin patches on my left leg.

Labor signs:
No!

Gender:
Baby Boy J!

Belly Button:
Innie-ish

Wedding Rings:
Fitting tighter and tighter!

Sleep:
What's sleep? Seriously.

Wisdom: Don't be the first of your friends to have a baby. It is so nice to get advice from friends on baby gear!!

Sunshines and Creeps

  • Creep to feeling like I'm in the first trimester again. All of the sudden a wave of nausea came over me. I put some food in my belly which helped some but now I keep burping up water. Boo. Plus I have been on the verge of sickness all week. So I am one tired and achy preggo.
  • Creep to Ross working and bad weather coming this weekend. I will be forced to skip the deer hunting opening weekend festivities for the first time in a loooong time. This make me very sad. It has been an event I look forward to all year and it is depressing. I LOVE deer opener. I love how all of the sudden sleep Dickey county roads are full of crazed hunters chasing down deer. I love getting up early and scouting with my dad, then napping, walking some of our land with the dogs for pheasants and then hitting the deer stands at night. Seriously, I better stop thinking about what I am missing or I will get pretty depressed.
  • Sunshine to learning infant CPR last night with Ross. CREEP to the thought of maybe having to use it almost bringing me to tears.
  • Sunshine to an impromptu date night after and then when we got home Ross was able to feel baby for the first time! That was fun. It is so hard to know what he will be able to feel because when you feel it on the inside it is a lot easier to feel it on the outside at the same time!
  • Creep to daydreaming about shakes all day today...
  • Sunshine to a three day weekend! I am REALLY hoping to get some serious house stuff done this weekend. I am thinking I will paint over my horrid red wall finally! It really isn't that bad. Actually at night I don't even mind it. During the day though it is too pink so it must go. I have put it off too long!
  • Creep to sales at the Gap.
  • Creep to buying way too many clothes for Baby J. I won't have to do his laundry for the first 3 months of his life! I think I will take some back and exchange them for bigger sizes so that he doesn't outgrow everything at once!
  • I guess I'm not feeling overly sunshiny today, sorry!
  • Sunshine to 103 days until due-day!

Oh Baby - Week 24

Total Weight Gain: Up about 7 lbs. I think. Depends on the time of day and what I'm wearing. When I really want to feel good about myself I weigh myself on my way to water aerobics just in my swimsuit :) cheating I know.

Maternity clothes:
Loving them.

Stretch Marks:
Nope.

Best moments:

Movement:
I have never felt him moving around a lot. I think he is facing backwards and I believe he's on the back side of the placenta so he really has to kick or punch, or headbutt me for me to notice I think.

Food Cravings:
Not really. I just always want something I don't have. This week I wanted french onion dip. Ross had to go to the store for the ingredients. I love my hubby.

Food Aversions:
None.

What I miss:
Wine. We're headed to my mom's birthday party and I could really use a glass of wine at the party!

Nausea/Vomiting:
Nope!

Symptoms:
Crazy dreams. I have them all the time, which is kind of fun! However, last night's dream was NO FUN! Why, because I dreamed I had a pet dolphin. A really cute mustached dolphin. Who was friendly and snuggly and fun. We did all sorts of fun things together. THEN I woke up. I realized I didn't have a pet dolphin and I instantly hated my life. Preggo dreams aren't fair.

My bladder is also starting to feel very small and squished again. We still have over three months to go!

Labor signs:
No, thank GOODNESS!

Gender:
Bouncing Baby Boy

Belly Button:
Innie for now...the Dr. did tell us that even if you become an outie during pregnancy it goes back in. So that really relieved my fears and I don't really care so much anymore. I just didn't want to be an outie for life!

Wedding Rings:
Fitting fine.

Sleep:
I am not sleeping well through the night, but it really isn't bothering me as much anymore. I don't feel as exhausted as before.

Wisdom: Get some compression hose! I won a pair at a mommy class and got them today. They feel wonderful and are supposed to increase circulation and reduce swelling in the legs and ankles! And anything I can do to ward off nasty varicose veins I'll take! I think I may get another pair!

Sunshines and Creeps

  • Sunshine to going to Bismarck this weekend! Yay!
  • Creep to driving in potentially crappy weather to Bismarck. Boo.
  • Sunshine to Ross's mom for watching Cooper dog for us this weekend. I am excited to get Sophie back this weekend as well. I keep telling myself that I am going to make the dogs sleep out in the garage in their kennels...I hope I follow through with it. Sophie will come back pretty dirty from the farm so that will help me force her off the bed! I must say I liked a dog free night last night. It was so nice not getting barked at all night and getting a few things done without even thinking about them (what will it be like with a baby and never any nights off! Can't ignore a screaming baby like you can a barking dog!)
  • Creep to really really dry itchy skin.
  • Creep to a water aerobics crasher who really shouldn't be coming to my water aerobics. It is very sad every time I see him walk in the door.
  • Sunshine to Friday. I really needed it this week. I have been so confused as to what day it is all week, it is nice Friday is finally here.
  • Sunshine to Menard's finally getting in our shelving brackets. Creep to it taking so long, double creep that they sat in back for a day and a half before they put them on the shelf.
  • Sunshine to getting fitted for compression hose this morning. They're supposed to help with circulation and reduce swelling in your legs as you get bigger and bigger. I won a free pair at the hospital at my last baby class, so DOUBLE FREE SUNSHINE!
  • Creep to making my cream of wheat this morning but it turning out very wrong...something caused the milk to curdle instead of turn into creamy goodness. It was sad washing it all down the drain.
  • Sunshine to walking into my office this week and finding a bag of maternity clothes, two bags actually! I love having great friends willing to share!
  • Sunshine to another wonderful friend willing to share their baby swing for baby J, I'm super excited to save on that expense! Everyone says to share those kinds of things because babies aren't in them very long so that is one place I am happy to borrow over buy!
  • Creep to trying to plan parties from another town and having to leave it to your brother and father. I am an UBER control freak and it has been really hard letting go of the reigns on my mom's 60th birthday party. I feel like everything will go wrong, I know it won't, when I'm not in charge. Plus I really like to know it is all my fault if it does go wrong, rather than wishing I could have done it and done it right. I know, I have issues to work on (but I'm sure I'm not the only one).
  • Sunshine to 110 days to due day!

Oh Baby - Week 23

Not the greatest bump picture...but seasonal!

Total Weight Gain: Not sure exactly but getting up there. Somewhere around up about 5-6 lbs. according to the scale at the gym.

Maternity clothes:
Still wearing them almost exclusively. I have some clothes that are just up a size and they work well for pants, as I refuse to buy too many preggo pants.

Stretch Marks:
Nope. Still faithfully using my almond oil.

Best moments:
Carving pumpkins with Ross this week! Super fun.

Movement:
He hasn't been moving around much lately. I feel him mostly when I am on the couch and sitting on one side, which I don't think he always likes too much!

Food Cravings:
Nothing much. Definitely thinking about food in general all the time!

Food Aversions:
None.

What I miss:
Lazy days around the house. My evil dog Cooper has put an end to those. He just sits and barks at me anytime I sit on the couch. I had a major meltdown about it yesterday and it is really starting to get to me when all I want to do is be fat and lazy and watch my trashy TV shows!

Nausea/Vomiting:
Nope!

Symptoms:
Starting to get a few more annoying ones...Heartburn after I eat fruit, like grapes. And bloody noses, oh the bloody noses. They just are gushers that come out of nowhere! I am pretty good with them at home but when I travel (or like last week when my humidifier broke) they're always back! Apparently my nose requires very moist air! I will be traveling with it from now on!

Labor signs:
No, thank GOODNESS!

Gender:
Bouncing Baby Boy

Belly Button:
Innie, getting very flat however...

Wedding Rings:
Fitting fine.

Sleep:
I am pretty uncomfortable, I surround myself with pillows and that is helping! Ross seems to be losing a lot of ground in the bed though!

Wisdom: Do what makes you feel good. Period.

Also, Tell your hubby when your dog is on the brink of being let go into the wild, he will talk you off the ledge.
