What a GREAT day!

Today is a triple special day for Ross and I! Not only is today the day we are shooting our engagement pictures with the lovely Katie Lewis (p.s. check out her blog here) BUT it is also our 2 year anniversary of when we started dating AND exactly 4 months until the big day when we say "I DO" to spending every day of the rest of our lives together!

Happy Anniversary Ross! I love you more and more each and every single day! I cannot wait to grow old and wrinkly with you.

It is certainly a special day and I just wanted take a minute to share it with all of you!

I hope the weather (and my pink eye) cooperates with us! More on that subject later!

Sunshines and Creeps

Sunshine to the beautiful weather this week!!

Creep to being sick all week. Boo.

Sunshine to my parent's coming last weekend! We got all sorts of wedding planning done and my parents finally met Ross's mom (his dad was out of town).

SUNSHINE to a haircut today! Long overdue, I cannot wait. I am not going to my usual stylist because she is booked up from now to eternity and having a baby in between, but I have gone to this stylist before and she was good back then.

Sunshine to engagement pictures next Tuesday, the weather BETTER cooperate for us!

Creep to trying to figure out what to wear for engagement pictures! It is much harder than I would've thought! I will probably have to go shopping!

Sunshine to Kristen's gender reveal party tomorrow! I am most certainly looking forward to seeing friends this weekend. It has been too long!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Wedding Wednesday

A couple weeks ago we sent out our Save the Dates to most of our invited guests. I absolutely am just IN LOVE with them!!!

Luckily, I am privileged enough to be friends with a great gal, Amanda, and she is a photoshop whiz and was able to find everything and deal with my Bridezilla self when I asked her to make about 15000 changes because I just kept forgetting things.

We also had her put together matching return address labels which also turned out SUPER CUTE!
Obviously you lose some of the effect when I start blocking things out but you get the picture (kind of).

I can't wait to start working on the invitations!

Only 129 days until the big one!!!

Tim McGraw

I am not usually this speedy but I am already ready to post about our Tim McGraw concert last night!

As you may remember from my last post, yesterday was Ross's (36th) birthday! For his present I took him to the Tim McGraw concert in town. He is currently touring with The Band Perry and Luke Bryan. I am no country fan but it is all Ross listens to so I thought he would enjoy it for his birthday. So I raced home from work to put on my best country outfit (jeans and a white tank) and made my hair nice and big with curls and we were off. We wanted to get to the venue early to park so we went to a restraunt in the arena for drinks and a meal prior to the show.

As we were walking up I realized that when I switched purses to downsize for the night...you guessed it, I forgot the tickets! So Ross went inside to meet his friend Derek and I went home to get the tickets. Then I got back, re-parked and when I ordered a drink, realized I didn't have my ID. ARGH. I had no idea when the last time I used it was until we thought it out and I realized it had to be in my other purse. So I went back home, again. Picked up my ID and was finally ready for the night. After a quick drink and bite to eat we were off to the concert!

I actually got horrible tickets and we couldn't see a thing except what they showed on the big screen. Luckily Ross had a friend who was sitting VERY close and we were able to squeeze in with them for the Tim McGraw portion of the show. It was a fantastic show. I didn't really know anything about the opening acts but did recognize a fair share of Tim McGraw songs to sing along with. My absolute favorite part of the night was watching Ross. He was just so happy and so excited that his energy was contagious. I hope it was a birthday to remember!

Happy Birthday Love!

Today is Ross's Birthday! I am excited for him because he never gets excited about birthdays. Here are a very few reasons why I love him today and every day:
  1. He is more patient with me than I could ever deserve. I am always late, full of excuses, messy, lazy, etc. and he is always picking up my slack. He is such a great partner to me, even if I am not to him.
  2. He takes the VERY little time he has on his lunch during his crazy days to take care of my second (and lesser) love Sophie so I can stay at work and read over my lunch hours.
  3. Every morning he texts me to wish me good morning - i love that text it makes me smile every morning
  4. He watches my horrible shows and movies (most of them anyway) with me and even fakes interest in them every once and awhile.
  5. He does sweet things for me all the time, like sends me flowers or even just picks one off the street for me
  6. He is my perfect manly man and I can't wait until we have a yard and a driveway for him to mow and shovel.
  7. He puts up with my control freak nature and lets me make all the stupid decisions and knows when to just roll his eyes and walk away
  8. He always picks up Sophie's poop for me, and rarely complain, unlike myself :)
  9. Every Sunday morning he packs up the dogs and picks up the Sunday paper (which I know is probably more for him than me but I love our Sundays that we just lounge around and watch Four Weddings)
  10. He always comes and give me a kiss right when he gets home each day and right before bed each night. I hope I get to do it every day until I run out of days.
  11. He lets me take millions of pictures of the two of us until I get one I like, I have horrible squinty eyes and take horrible pictures.
  12. He brings me a sweatshirt when I am cold, before I even know I need one.
  13. He takes care of me when I am sick (and dying, and whining, and won't let him forget how sick I am)
  14. He packs and unpacks the car during our travels.
  15. He also always insists on driving, and although I fight him on it sometimes, I LOVE getting to be the passenger, and sometimes sleeping or watching a movie. He also humors me and lets me read articles from magazines or the paper out loud to him.
  16. He keeps me young (which I am compared to him but I definitely act older most days) even if I fight him on it. I love that he is always joking or playing tricks on me because it keeps me laughing (most days) and makes me know that we really could get through anything as long as we can still laugh together.
  17. HE MAKES MY LIFE BETTER JUST BY BEING IN IT! I honestly can't imagine not having Ross in my life until the end. I don't want to spend another day or minute without him (but not in a creepy way like Alexis and Jim from the RHOOC, see number 4 above). I can't wait until we are married 130 days and will be husband and wife and start our own little Johnson family.

VEGAS!

So exactly one year ago today Ross and I were getting ready to head to Vegas! It was a little birthday/anniversary trip we planned but also went to see Ross's brother who lives in a Vegas suburb. It was also our very first big trip we took with each other.

What can I say about Vegas???!!! It sure is one of a kind, and LOADS of fun! The first night we got in Ross's brother picked us up and we went to the M Resort for a few drinks and some yummy sushi. The M resort is beautiful and Ross's brother (who was full of fun history about most of Las Vegas) told us that this casino is unique because the architect (who is responsible for a lot of the LV skyline) was also the owner and wanted to build his own casino.

The next day we went to check out some of Ross's brother's favorite local spots in town, and also went for a tour of course! Our first stop was for fish tacos made by a local guy. Apparently this place was very close to the UNLV campus where his brother goes to school and he frequents the place often. The tacos were great, but what was even better was sitting outside and eating...something that doesn't happen often here in GF in May. Then we went to Freakin' Frogs across the street. This place was Ross's highlight of the trip! He still talks about it to this day! I must admit, I really enjoyed it too. FF has over 1000 beers and in their Whiskey Attic they have over 600 kinds of whiskey. They also had a pretty impressive tequila stock but they were apparently phasing it out to keep their focus on whiskey and beer. We each picked a different kind of beer to enjoy, mine was a delicious honey infused beer that was 13% alcohol and 100% delicious. Then we all "enjoyed" some whiskey (I say this loosely because I didn't even finish mine, so NOT a whiskey girl!)
That night we hit up Fremont Street (downtown LV). VERY sketchy. I would skip downtown if you go. I felt like I was going to get pick pocketed at every turn. Ross very much enjoyed it... the booze probably helped ;)
Seeing the famous Vegas Vic was certainly a highlight downtown though.

The next day we went to the strip to see the newest casino, City Center. We spent most of our time in Aria, which was beautiful!
Ross and I then bee-bopped around the strip by ourselves. I got a yard of margarita in the Caesar's Palace shopping pavillion, which was GREAT for strolling around with.

Then we checked out the Mirage which was probably my favorite casino.

On to the next day, which was my favorite! Ross surprised me with tickets to the Cirque de Soli tickets for the Beatles Love show for our one year dating anniversary! I have been dying to see this show forever! I have been listening to the soundtrack for a couple years. I was so very surprised and so happy to have a plan for the night instead of wandering aimlessly through town again. So we had a pretty chill morning and then hit up in and out burger with Ross's brother and then he took us to our hotel that we got for the night (at the imperial palace). We stood in line to check in, for quite a while, and we marveled at all the different types of people come to LV and all the different kinds of clothes they wear! We finally checked in and saw all the celebrity impersonator dealers they have (too many) as well as all of the decor (which at times consisted of duct tape holding up fabric on the walls). Then we got up to our room so I could get ready. Woof. Immediately we noticed that the view was horrible, the bed was rock hard and the pool was worse than a Motel 8! But it was cheap and we didn't stay long! We took off for adventures on the strip again! I filled up my yard of margarita (with an extra tequila shot) and eventually made our way to the Mirage for our show. When we got there we picked up a few souvenirs from the LOVE gift shop and then went to the bar for drinks, which were 32 oz! Needless to say, by the end of the show we were ready for something in our bellies. However, we decided to go watch the Treasure Island pirate show instead, and then found more drinks.

Eventually we found food. It was the absolute worst choice for dinner we could've made in LV and was SUPER expensive. We were ok spending the money because we were celebrating, but I for one was hoping that it would at least be good food...I only have myself to blame because I was getting so desperate for food I picked the place. So for my 2 cents, don't go to the french place in the venetian.

After a few (mis)adventures with escalators I went back to the room for what I hoped would be a brief nap (but turned into bedtime). Ross decided to go out and celebrate his birthday on his own (which by that time it officially was). I must say he was a great partner and checked up on me all night (which probably also kept him close to home). The next morning I woke up to Ross passed out and lots of fun voicemails and picture messages from him throughout the night. Then we tried to go to our dinky pool but it was too cold so we went to margaritaville for breakfast instead and then it was time to go home. Very quick but fun-filled trip!

We flew home on Ross's 35th birthday, what a trooper!

Happy (early) 36th birthday babe!
