Today is my first friday as a married lady!

Time for sunshines and creeps!

Sunshine to BEING MARRIED! - I wasn't sure if it would feel different or if it would kind of be the same as before but it feels GREAT! I love being married so far. It just feels like we are a family now, there is just something about those vows that are so important.

Sunshine to getting our certified marriage license! I've used my lunch hours to switch things over ever since! I just need to do a few more credit cards and my driver's license. They, unfortunately, were closed the last portion of the week this week. We already did our banking and my social security cards!

Sunshine to a wonderful wedding weekend! It was a great weekend to get married in the great outdoors, minus a few bee stings, more on that later.

Sunshine to a great mini-moon! We went to Ross's parents' lake cabin and had a wonderful time. We went into town and did some shopping and lots of eating!

Sunshine to all of our wedding party making it to the wedding. Even my 9 month pregnant matron-of-honor! I can't believe she was able to make it! It was such a wonderful surprise.

You won't hear any creeps from me this week! It has been great!

Single Digits

I can't believe we are in the single digits now with only 9 days to go!

Holy smokes!

I feel so blessed to have so many people in our lives willing to help us do whatever we need.

I have been so insane this week. I have something every day and night so last minute wedding prep is happening late nights which is making me a TOTALLY over tired, cranky BrideZIlLa!!!! Luckily Ross is being very patient with me.

• Creep to no blogging - I just can't find the time. and SO MUCH has been going on! I literally don't have one night free next week (or the week after).
• Creep to having too much to do.
• Sunshine to a great date night tomorrow- I am getting my practice make-up done tomorrow and then we are picking up Ross's suit in Fargo and hitting up the town!
• Sunshine to two more Friday's as a single lady!
• Sunshine to Kristen's birthday today!!! Happy 29th K!!

Wedding Wednesday

This week's wedding Wednesday is INVITES!

They're finally in the mail! A little late but I think that is ok - we aren't inviting many people and everyone I want there has known the date and location FAR before now - so we're solid. The only other issue is, that there may have been one that went out with no stamp on the RSVP card. I feel pretty bad about this, but I guess it is just one mistake I'll have to live with...

These turned out to be WONDERFUL! Just how I wanted them - except Ross had me order envelopes that were huge. Oh well, nothing is perfect, right?! The envelopes were super cute, a perfect green to match! I didn't get inner envelopes, but instead tied the invite cards together with jute - super fun and rustic, just what I'm going for! Hope you like them too - I blotted out the place and time and some of our names, just in case you get any funny ideas about showing up! We really don't have room for you people! It will be tight as is!

A HUGE SHOUT OUT to my friend Amanda - who helped me get these together. She is a lifesaver and designed all of them for me! What a gal!

One Month!

Today is one month from the day that I marry my man! I can't believe it is actually here! I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about the day now so I can't even guess how I will feel on the actual day! I can't wait for our big day when Ross is all mine...forever!

I can't wait to start the next chapter in our story together.

In the next month I know I will have SO much to do but I also want to enjoy this time as much as I can and want to prioritize our time together and not freak out about the little things to him when I start losing my mind near the big day. I am going to try to keep this quote in mind for the next month...and the rest of our lives together. I know that I take Ross for granted every single day. I want to change that starting NOW, because there is no one more important in my life than him, and he should know that I suppose!

So my struggle of the day is, do I let Ross stay home the night before the wedding day, or does he go stay at a hotel? I can't imagine not waking up with him that day and sharing the first moment of our special day together. But it would probably make it that much more special to see him for the first time after I am all done up and ready to walk down the aisle. What about you all...what did you/would you do?

40 Days

40 days and counting.

My stress level is definitely getting high....I am so excited to marry the man of my dreams. I am also really excited for the day after the wedding because this planning will finally.all.be.over! I am definitely feeling the effects of stress, my face which is normally pretty pimple free, is full of be red zits, and my sleep is practically only in 2 hour increments now. Boo.

Phew!

Today is officially 2 months until Ross and my BIG day! Things feel like they are starting to come together! We will hopefully have the cake vendor picked out soon and then we are all set!

I can't wait to be a wife!

CREEP - Watch out for bridezilla

Wedding Wednesday - Debbie Downer Version


I usually try to stay pretty upbeat. I don't let a lot get to me. I am a VERY relaxed person. I am NOT a planner. I rarely get my hopes up about anything, but when I do I am crushed if that something doesn't work out. I haven't really been attached to anything to do with our wedding EXCEPT the: guy; venue; and pastor.

I knew I wanted to marry Ross after our first kiss. I knew I would never let him go. He is the man of my dreams.

We picked the venue within a week of getting married. It is wonderful. I just love Turtle River State Park. It feels natural to have our wedding there.

The pastor was actually one of the few things we also picked right away. I have been going to my current church for awhile now and just really feel connected to God through the Pastor. I actually got to know him when I was at my previous job where he was on the board of directors. So we asked him to officiate and he accepted! I was pumped!

Well that all came crashing down on me yesterday. He called to let us know that he had taken a call for another church, in Oregon. I was devastated. I wanted the sermon/ceremony to be meaningful and special for our wedding since that is the whole reason we are there/here. I KNEW that our Pastor would absolutely make that happen for us.

So after an afternoon/night of wallowing in true bridezilla form I am on the hunt for a new pastor/possibly a new church as well. I haven't decided about that yet. I like our current church. It is welcoming and wonderful, but I'm not sure how much of that is just Pastor and how much is the church itself.

I am also seriously considering a judge or magistrate to perform the ceremony. In my previously life as an attorney I have gotten to know quite a few of our judges and would rather have a judge perform the ceremony if they know (at least one of) us rather than a pastor that barely knows our names. So keep us in your thoughts/prayers that something will work out.

Hooray! Another week is in the books and it is time for the weekend!

• Sunshine to picking out my wedding band! Now I just want to wear it!

Wedding Wednesday - Engagement Pictures!

We did our engagement pictures about a month ago with Katie Lewis, be sure to check out her blog here, you will love her like we do!

We chose two locations here in town, one at my favorite park and the other we just roamed around downtown.

What a GREAT day!

Today is a triple special day for Ross and I! Not only is today the day we are shooting our engagement pictures with the lovely Katie Lewis (p.s. check out her blog here) BUT it is also our 2 year anniversary of when we started dating AND exactly 4 months until the big day when we say "I DO" to spending every day of the rest of our lives together!

Happy Anniversary Ross! I love you more and more each and every single day! I cannot wait to grow old and wrinkly with you.

It is certainly a special day and I just wanted take a minute to share it with all of you!

I hope the weather (and my pink eye) cooperates with us! More on that subject later!

Wedding Wednesday

A couple weeks ago we sent out our Save the Dates to most of our invited guests. I absolutely am just IN LOVE with them!!!

Luckily, I am privileged enough to be friends with a great gal, Amanda, and she is a photoshop whiz and was able to find everything and deal with my Bridezilla self when I asked her to make about 15000 changes because I just kept forgetting things.

We also had her put together matching return address labels which also turned out SUPER CUTE!
Obviously you lose some of the effect when I start blocking things out but you get the picture (kind of).

I can't wait to start working on the invitations!

Only 129 days until the big one!!!

Happy Birthday Love!

Today is Ross's Birthday! I am excited for him because he never gets excited about birthdays. Here are a very few reasons why I love him today and every day:

1. He is more patient with me than I could ever deserve. I am always late, full of excuses, messy, lazy, etc. and he is always picking up my slack. He is such a great partner to me, even if I am not to him.
   
2. He takes the VERY little time he has on his lunch during his crazy days to take care of my second (and lesser) love Sophie so I can stay at work and read over my lunch hours.
   
3. Every morning he texts me to wish me good morning - i love that text it makes me smile every morning
   
4. He watches my horrible shows and movies (most of them anyway) with me and even fakes interest in them every once and awhile.
5. He does sweet things for me all the time, like sends me flowers or even just picks one off the street for me
   
6. He is my perfect manly man and I can't wait until we have a yard and a driveway for him to mow and shovel.
   
7. He puts up with my control freak nature and lets me make all the stupid decisions and knows when to just roll his eyes and walk away
8. He always picks up Sophie's poop for me, and rarely complain, unlike myself :)
9. Every Sunday morning he packs up the dogs and picks up the Sunday paper (which I know is probably more for him than me but I love our Sundays that we just lounge around and watch Four Weddings)
10. He always comes and give me a kiss right when he gets home each day and right before bed each night. I hope I get to do it every day until I run out of days.
11. He lets me take millions of pictures of the two of us until I get one I like, I have horrible squinty eyes and take horrible pictures.
    
12. He brings me a sweatshirt when I am cold, before I even know I need one.
    
13. He takes care of me when I am sick (and dying, and whining, and won't let him forget how sick I am)
14. He packs and unpacks the car during our travels.
    
15. He also always insists on driving, and although I fight him on it sometimes, I LOVE getting to be the passenger, and sometimes sleeping or watching a movie. He also humors me and lets me read articles from magazines or the paper out loud to him.
    
16. He keeps me young (which I am compared to him but I definitely act older most days) even if I fight him on it. I love that he is always joking or playing tricks on me because it keeps me laughing (most days) and makes me know that we really could get through anything as long as we can still laugh together.
    
17. HE MAKES MY LIFE BETTER JUST BY BEING IN IT! I honestly can't imagine not having Ross in my life until the end. I don't want to spend another day or minute without him (but not in a creepy way like Alexis and Jim from the RHOOC, see number 4 above). I can't wait until we are married 130 days and will be husband and wife and start our own little Johnson family.

Sunshine to getting out the Save the Dates...FINALLY! Just a little over a month late...oh well. I'm starting to feel a little less bothered when I see all of the red things on my knot.com checklist. I suppose come Sept. 24th we will be married either way...if there is nothing for anyone to eat that is none of my concern.

Sunshine to a visit to the Magic City yesterday with Jenny my co-worker. It was nice to get out of the office for a day, but CREEP to why we went (for a funeral).

Sunshine to going to Something Borrowed with Jenny tomorrow!

Creep to being tired all week long. I hope I get some serious sleeping in tomorrow.

Sunshine to Mother's Day and to all the new mommies out there this year. I won't see my mom this year on Mother's day, the first time EVER. But they're coming up to meet Ross's parents (finally) next weekend. So I guess creep to my weekend of cleaning ahead in anticipation of their visit (which is definitely a Sunshine for Ross who would like it if I were a little (a lot) less messy on a regular basis)

Creep to the Silhouette blog making me feel like there are so many cool things I should be able to do with the Silhouette but not knowing how to do them.

Sunshine to 141 days until I marry the most wonderful, caring, loving man on earth. I truly cannot wait to share the rest of our lives together. But Creep to it seeming so far away still...wish the big day was tomorrow.

Sunshines & Creeps

I'm going to try to post more...I swear.

I thought I would play along with Kristen's Sunshines and Creeps. I started this on Friday but my boss came in and said we could all leave at 3:30 so I never got around to finishing it! SUNSHINE to that!

Sunshine to lunch with my co-workers today at Al's Grill and to picking up a catering menu for possible wedding options!

Creep to the Sioux loss last night...heartbreaking to say the least. I think Coach Hakstol is cursed.

Sunshine to going to Green Mill last night with Ross, Jenny, Bonnie & Derek. It was fun to be out watching the game, even though it was devastating.

Creep to the Sioux loss. I mean really. It was very sad.

SUNSHINE to picking my wedding dress! I got to meet my mom, aunt, cousin, her two daughters, and Kristen in Fargo to do some wedding stuff and I made an appointment to look at dresses, even though I didn't think I was going to get one because I already bought two online. Well I fell in love with one (two actually) and one looked amazing on. So the two are going back and this one is going to the cleaners and alterations lady! I cannot wait for the big day so I can finally show Ross!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Cards

I love Shutterfly for all my cards and have had a photobook saved in my account for 6 months. They have a couple different styles including flat photo cards, flat stationary cards, and folding stationary cards.

I have a couple favorites from the flat photo card category. I just love sending out Christmas cards. This year will be the second year Ross and I are doing a card together. Last year we had a couple different versions. This year we will probably stick to just one.

I think this one is very traditional. I love the color red for Christmas. I love cards that keep Christmas at the heart of the card.

This next card is very cute and a little more contemporary but again is keeping with the Christmas theme.
This last card is one of my front runners. It is more contemporary but I think that may be fun to change it up a bit this year. I also wanted to find a card with three slots for pictures for various photos I want to include.

Lastly, I have big news - more to come on my first Wedding Wednesday post - BUT - I am engaged! To Mr Ross. I couldn't be happier. He is just the love of my life and I can't imagine spending one day without him. Here is my favorite picture of us together. I want to get something like this together again for this year's card.
