Sunshines and Creeps

This week's sunshines and creeps doesn't have a lot to it since I just did one on Monday but here we go!

Sunshine to great weather the last couple of days. It is a bit cooler today (66) but it feels nice after a few days of scorching heat.

Creep to my feelings of impatience. Now that both of my neighbors have sold their houses I am getting very anxious to sell ours. I honestly thought ours would be the first to go, so it goes to show, what the heck do I know about selling a house anyway! I am trying to remind myself that it has only been on the market a week, be patient it will happen. (Those are seriously my dad's exact words to me, proof I actually do listen to what my dad says)

Sunshine to going to the doctor yesterday, finally, to get on some prescription meds for my evil sinuses. I have had horrible sinus issues my whole life and now he put me on a new med that should (finders crossed) help out some. I haven't slept in a week because I have been up with a cough so bad. I also have a sinus infection right now on top of my chronic sinus issues so I got meds to hopefully help with that too!

Creep that I may have to go on a nasal spray if the first meds don't work well for me. I hate putting liquid in my nose. Early on I mastered the ability to never get water up my nose while swimming, so this seems counter intuitive to me. Although I must admit I have started doing a saline sinus rinse and it feels so good afterwards that I am starting to get used to it.

Creep to our pups being gone for so long now :( Sophie has been gone for two whole months. She is on vacay with my parents until we get all moved out of our house and into a new one. She is not dead like I apparently have lead people to believe on facebook, although it feels like she is since I never see her.  Cooper is also on vacay with Ross's parents until we move. He has been gone for a month already! I miss out pups, it is so quiet at home without them. I love coming home to our happy happy pups who love us and missed us all day. I don't miss their hair everywhere, especially this time of year. Sorry mom and dad and to your carpets too!

I got this picture from Ross today who is walking Cooper for his parents. Ahhhh the life of a dog!

Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day! Enjoy your long weekend only one until July!

Happy Birthday Cooper

Our Cooper dog turned 4 this past Tuesday. We made him a cake, but didn't sing, don't worry, we aren't that crazy!

Here is a picture of the happy birthday boy with his cake.

Manic Monday

I'm going to try to post more, and my attempt to start that is with a new weekly Monday post. And because I am a product of the 80s, I'm going to call it Manic Monday, so I can dance to the song in my head.

This week my schedule isn't too bad! When I say that I usually know that I am missing something on my calendar and things will pop up before I know it!

Tuesday we are going to trek down south an hour and see my best friend Kristen's new baby boy, Caleb! SO exciting! I am also hoping for a little tutti frutti ice cream while there!

Sunday I am signing up for new member orientation at church. I'm sure more will come up

throughout the week but that's what I know about for now!

This weekend wasn't too exciting. We made a trip to one of our favorite restaurants that is a sushi/thai place in town, YUMMY. I can't get enough curry, seriously. Then it was the start of another AWESOME SIOUX hockey season. We got season tickets this year, so I am very excited. They were playing Regina this weekend for an exhibition game. Pretty big blowout!

Sunday was a little less exciting, I cleaned out the fridge and took Cooper to the dog park. Then I was officially a football widow for the first time! Ross didn't make it home until 11pm and I was fast asleep!

Happy Monday everyone!

Dogs, dogs, dogs

This week Ross and I have my parents' dog Breega. She is the sweetest chocolate lab. However, she is incredibly spoiled and very jealous when you give attention to anything other than her. She whines and barks like crazy any time you do.

So we have:

Sophie
Sophie is an obsessive ball chaser. She would love nothing more than to play with a tennis ball all. day. long. seriously. I think it is borderline (maybe not so borderline) OCD.

Cooper
What do I say about Cooper, he may be one of the most annoying dogs on the face of the planet. He weighs 90 lbs and thinks he is a lap dog. He barks non-stop and licks, licks, licks. When he is done drinking water he goes toward the nearest person (sometimes Sophie's head can substitute) licking the air until he can make skin contact. Sigh.

Breega
Like I said, Breega is spoiled rotten. I have already had at least one call per day per parent about her. They believe she cannot adjust to my lifestyle because she "hasn't been around dogs" and needs attention. Well, she is getting plenty of attention... from the dogs! Duh M & D!

We're having a great time so far. Breega is a very well behaved dog and very loving. I'm glad to have her here for awhile, even if it kind of feels like we are running a dog zoo. I was talking to my dad and contemplating taking her to the dog park but then we decided that we have our own dog park at home.

SNOW DAY

This is the snow piling up outside the patio door. about 4 and 1/2 feet maybe 5 in the tallest side.

Today is the best kind of day! It's a SNOW DAY! Growing up snow days were few and far between. I remember one snow day the whole time I was in school. Even though we lived in the country my dad managed to get us to school every single day (which made me mad at the time but now just shows me what great parents I have). It really was disappointing at the time, because these were days that the superintendent was saying it was up to the parents' best judgment if they could bring their kids to school safely, so needless to say again, my parents always made sure we were there. This is also dispite the fact that my brother and I went to two different schools. It wasn't all bad though, the days that none of the other kids were in class (despite living in town, near the school) we got to play games and do actual fun things.
It wasn't until my first year in college that I got another snow day. It was a horrible blizzard in October, which in comparison to what would come in the future, was nothing. Luckily in October no one really anticipates these things and they had no way to remove all the snow, so SNOW DAY! That was one fun snow day. It was the kind of snow days you actually see on tv, the one where it is still nice enough to do something outside if you really wanted to (which most college students are too lazy to do). A couple years later, when the university president really should have called a snow day, it was 60 below cars wouldn't start, your face froze off just looking outside, but there we were, silly college students running all around our giant campus from class to class.

View from out the patio window. This picture doesn't do it justice. It's gross out there!

Thanks to the snow day I get to stay home with the dogs. This is what Cooper is up to. What a crazy dog. He loves to sit on that chair and watch out the window. Or in this case sleep on the chair with his head falling off it. I love being at home with the dogs when they are sleeping :)

Happy Snow Day everyone!!!!
